Blue Bright (2021)

this is my first full-length record and my first foray into studio recording. i got to work with my favorite musician growing up, which was intimidating and empowering. at the time of my writing this, about 6 years has passed and i see now just how much i learned in making these songs. perhaps the best part of making a first record is that it means i got to make a second, third, and more. and a very cool part of having a first record age is the shift in understanding that happens when i listen back to these songs. i hear different meanings. the purpose seems clearer. it's a beautiful way to listen to yourself and come to learn who is inside of all the casings we are nested inside as humans.

i remember the first moment of reaching out to ask about booking studio time. i had two songs (maybe tomorrow and closer) and i was ready to commit some money to bringing them to life. for all the parts of making a record, that initial decision to reach out and ask about availability and cost is one i'm so proud of. i showed myself that i was holding my creativity wiht earnest hands and i think that is a vote everyone has to give themselves at some point if you're to flourish.
