my name is séamus scanlan. shayduhg was my high school screen name that has not been bested yet and, as part of my intention with this website and what i create is to keep in touch with all of the yester-me's, it remains a nickname i'm fond of.

mostly, i intend to use this website to catalog the music i've made. while not professionally trained, i still feel that music is my favorite language to speak, listen to and interpret. there is an understanding that the hardest thinking can't equal in song and it involves the whole person. and so i try to speak my less understood or easy to articulate truths in my music.

in order to do that in a way that feels best to me, i've leaned into other curiosities that make me feel stronger (as in, the feeling is more present) and so i might feature some of that here as well. when i look around at the websites on here that reach for the early intent of the internet, i feel inspired to embrace that simple coziness.

i hope you'll have a listen to some of my music when you land here. i'm always considering my internet existence but a safe way to stay up with my latest music making would be on my youtube. or you can come back here as you like and see if i've made any progress on updating this website.
